Standard dialogue
- Player: What's all this about?
- Martin Holt: Ah, hello and welcome. I'm Martin Holt, leader of Kourend's Royal Society. This is our little protest against the Kourend Council.
- Player: Pleased to meet you. I'm [player name]. So, what's wrong with the Council?
- Martin Holt: Now there's a question! I have a better one. What's right with the Council?
- Martin Holt: I bet you didn't know that the Council was originally only temporary. After the last King died, they were only supposed to rule until his daughter came of age.
- Martin Holt: However, according to the Council, the King's daughter went mad. Such a wonderful convenience for them of course. With her out of the picture, the Council became permanent.
- Player: Interesting. What else don't you like about the Council?
- Martin Holt: Democracy! That's meant to be the big thing for the Council. Funny thing is, although they're meant to be elected by the people, the same four people have won every single election. Little odd, no?
- Player: That is a bit suspicious, I suppose.
- Martin Holt: Indeed it is. So, do you want to join our protest?
- Player: Not right now. But thanks for the information.

After A Kingdom Divided
- Martin Holt: Good to see you friend.
- Player: Hello Martin. Now here's somewhere I wouldn't have expected to find you.
- Martin Holt: Indeed. I never thought I'd be back here.
- Player: So why are you here?
- Martin Holt: We won! The Council are out, and we have what Kourend really needed. We have a king!
- Martin Holt: Of course, King Artur ended up taking the throne from his father a little faster than anyone expected, so he needs plenty of guidance. That's where I come in!
- Player: So you're helping to advise the King?
- Martin Holt: Exactly! When the people voted on Rose's Accord, they voted for the Hosidius family to become the new royal family. From a technical standpoint that means they voted for King Artur.
- Player: But in reality it was his father they expected to rule.
- Martin Holt: Precisely. My job is to advise King Artur and ensure his actions have a positive impact on the people that he now rules.
- Player: And how's that going?
- Martin Holt: Not too bad. While he lacks experience, the King has a good heart. He wants to do the right thing, and he has the support needed to do it.
- Martin Holt: Mind you, he could do with listening to his mother less. She's always whispering things in his ear. She forgets that he's the one in charge, not her.
- Martin Holt: Still, I'm sure he just needs time to adjust. I have no doubt that under King Artur, Kourend will prosper like never before.
- Player: I'm sure you're right. See you around Martin.
- Martin Holt: Until next time.
