Standard dialogue

  • Player: Hello. What do you do here?
  • Imerominia: Hello. My name is Imerominia and I'm the library horologist.
  • Horologist? What does that mean?
    • Player: Horologist? What does that mean?
    • Imerominia: Horology is the study and measurement of time. Specifically, I study how time and dates have been historically recorded.
    • Imerominia: For example, the date convention in Great Kourend is to state the number of days and decades since the signing of the Royal Accord of Twill.
    • Player: Days and decades? That's a bit confusing.
    • Imerominia: Yes, it's an interesting convention. Truth be told, most in the kingdom prefer to use the same date format as you'll find used elsewhere.
    • Imerominia: However, as this is the Historical Archive, we stick to the dates used historically within Kourend.
    • Tell me more about the Royal Accord of Twill.
      • Player: Tell me more about the Royal Accord of Twill.
      • Imerominia: The Royal Accord of Twill was signed by the rulers of each of the houses 139 decades ago, following the great famine.
      • Imerominia: The Accord declared that each house will, in turn, rule the Kingdom of Great Kourend for one decade in rotation, based on lots drawn.
      • If the player has not completed A Kingdom Divided:
        • Imerominia: You may find a book in the Grand Library with further information. Is there anything else I can help you with?
        • Is the Royal Accord of Twill still honoured today?
          • Player: Is the Royal Accord of Twill honoured today?
          • Imerominia: Our kingdom has advanced somewhat over the many decades since the Accord. Though some parts of the Accord remain intact, the Kourend Council now rules Great Kourend.
          • Player: Was the Accord ever breached?
          • Imerominia: Indeed it was. In the 13th decade, King Shayzien III seized control of Kourend using the military under his command.
          • Imerominia: The full set of laws within the Accord haven't been followed since. However, some of them were reinstated in the 47th decade, by King Byrne I.
          • Player: Fascinating. What happened during that time?
          • Imerominia: During the 20th decade, King Shayzien VI married the daughter of Lord Hosidius. Four decades later their son was crowned king.
          • Imerominia: He took the name King Hosidius IV in an attempt to distance the family from the breaking of the Royal Accord of Twill.
          • Imerominia: King Hosidius IV followed by his son, King Hosidius V ruled Kourend until the early days of the 33rd decade.
          • Imerominia: It was then that King Shayzien VII took control of the kingdom. His rule was a notably violent one.
          • Imerominia: King Shayzien VII was killed some five decades later during the Battle of the Concourse. He was succeeded by the dark mage, Xeric.
          • Imerominia: Xeric ruled Kourend for more than ten dark decades using an army of lizardmen. This time period was known as the Age of Strife.
          • Imerominia: Xeric was eventually killed during the 47th decade and succeeded by King Byrne I.
          • Can you tell me more about Xeric?
            • Player: Can you tell me more about Xeric?
            • Imerominia: Ah, I do not have much more information on him. You should speak to Ektheme, our Xerician expert.
            • Player: Thanks.
            • (End of dialogue)
          • So what is today's date?
            • (Same as below)
          • Goodbye.
            • (Same as below)
        • So what is today's date?
          • (Same as below)
        • No thanks.
          • Player: No thanks.
          • (End of dialogue)
      • If the player has completed A Kingdom Divided:
        • Imerominia: The Royal Accord of Twill no longer plays much part in the rulership of Kourend. It was breached in the 13th decade when King Shayzien III seized control of the kingdom. It hasn't been honoured since.
        • Imerominia: That said, it was the basis for Rose's Accord, which sets out how the kingdom is currently ruled today. As decreed in Rose's Accord, the Hosidius family are now the royal family of Kourend.
        • Imerominia: We have the original Royal Accord of Twill safely stored here. Although it's not available for public viewing, there are copies available within the Grand Library. Is there anything else I can help you with?
        • So what is today's date?
          • (Same as below)
        • No thanks.
          • (Same as above)
    • So what is today's date?
      • Player: So what is today's date?
      • Imerominia: I'm afraid I lose track of which day it is... but we are in the 141st decade.
      • Player: So that means the Accord was signed almost 1,410 years ago?
      • Imerominia: That is correct. You seem to have understood our time and date format well.
      • (End of dialogue)
    • What about the time before the Accord was signed?
      • Player: What about the time before the Accord was signed?
      • Imerominia: Very little is known about those ancient times, but we refer to them as decades 'Before Accord', or 'BA' for short.
      • (Shows other options)
    • Goodbye.
      • (Same as below)
  • Have you ever heard of Camorra?
    • (Same as below)
  • Goodbye.
    • Player: Goodbye.
    • (End of dialogue)

During Dragon Slayer II

  • Player: Hello, what do you do here?
  • Imerominia: Hello. My name is Imerominia and I'm the library horologist.
  • Horologist? What does that mean?
    • (Same as above)
  • Have you ever heard of Camorra?
    • Player: Have you ever heard of Camorra?
    • If the player has not asked her about Camorra yet:
      • Imerominia: I can't say I have. Who is she?
      • Player: She's a hero from nearly two thousand years ago. I believe she travelled to Kourend during the Dragonkin Conflicts. I was hoping to learn more about her.
      • Imerominia: Two thousand years ago? That's long before the founding of Kourend. I'm afraid we have very few records from those times here.
      • Player: Oh. So you can't help me?
      • Imerominia: I can't but someone might be able to. The five cities of Kourend were founded long before the kingdom itself. Each city has their own historian who might have more information on the early days of their house.
      • Player: Great. Is there a particular city you'd recommend?
      • Imerominia: Hosidius and Shayzien were the two cities founded during the Dragonkin Conflicts. They might be the best ones to start with. The other cities were founded much earlier, during the God Wars.
      • Player: Where can I find the Hosidius and Shayzien historians?
      • Imerominia: Jonathan is the Hosidius historian. He lives west of the Hosidius General Store. Amelia is the Shayzien historian. She lives south west of the Shayzien Pub.
      • Player: Thanks for the help.
      • (End of dialogue)
    • If the player has asked her about Camorra already:
      • Imerominia: I have not. Did you try talking to the Hosidius and Shayzien historians about her.
      • Player: Where can I find them again?
      • Imerominia: Jonathan is the Hosidius historian. He lives west of the Hosidius General Store. Amelia is the Shayzien historian. She lives south west of the Shayzien Pub.
      • Player: Thanks for the help.
      • (End of dialogue)
  • Goodbye.
    • (Same as above)
