Underground Pass
(Transcript missing - Missing early chat dialogue edit)
- Player: Hi, Koftik.
- Koftik: Hello adventurer. We seem to have a bit of an issue ahead of us. The bridge is up and I can't see another way across.
- Player: Do you know how to get the bridge down?
- Koftik: I'm afraid not. This is the furthest I've ever been. It does look like someone was here before us though, there's the remains of a camp.
- Koftik: I had a look through their things and found some cloth along with the charred remains of some arrows.
- Player: Charred arrows? They must have been trying to burn something. Or someone!
- Koftik gives you some cloth. It's coated in an oil substance.
- Koftik: There's plenty more cloth by the fire. I also found the remains of a book...

- What does it say?
- Player: What does it say?
- Koftik: It seems to be written by the adventurer Randas. Have a look.
- The Diary of Randas interface opens
Before the grid obstacle
- Player: Hello Koftik.
- Koftik: Do you hear them? The voices tell me things.
- Player: Are you OK?
- Koftik: The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities[sic] of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
- (End of dialogue)
After passing the agility maze
- Koftik: The voices, they've been telling me things...
- Player: Koftik, is everything okay? You're getting me worried.
- Koftik: Don't be, friend. Anyway, do you know the definition of insanity?
- Player: Err... what?
- Koftik: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting things to change.
- Koftik: I spent years doing the same thing, day in and day out. I always wanted more but I never got it. Now, I finally see why...
- Koftik: You see, once I was insane. But now... now I am finally free...
- (End of dialogue)
Entering the Iban's temple area
- Koftik: Ah, you've arrived. We've been waiting for you.
- Player: Koftik, you're still here? You should leave.
- Koftik: Leave? But this is my home now. Home with my lord. He talks to me, he's my friend.
- Player: Koftik, you really should leave these caverns.
- Koftik: Not now, we're all the same down here. There's just you and those dwarves left.
- Player: Dwarves?
- Koftik: Foolish dwarves, still believing that they can resist. No one resists Iban.
- Koftik: You could help! Deep down you know you want it! I know you already dealt with those Paladins. Now you just need to kill the dwarves!
- Koftik: Head south and through the tunnel. You'll find the dwarves at the other end. Go slay them. Slay them for our lord!
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Koftik before slaying Iban
- Koftik: Nice job killing those Paladins. You're much closer to his side now. Perhaps you could kill those dwarves as well. That would really please him.
- Koftik: Head south and through the tunnel. You'll find the dwarves at the other end. Go slay them. Slay them for our lord!
- (End of dialogue)
After slaying Iban
- Koftik: Adventurer, where am I? I can't remember a thing!
- Player: We were losing you to Iban's influence.
- Koftik: What? Of course, the voices... But they've stopped. What happened?
- Player: Iban's dead, I destroyed him.
- Koftik: You've done well! Thanks for saving me.
- Koftik: But what about you, adventurer? Did the voices not affect you?
- Your mind is filled with strange images. A unicorn. A boulder. Some paladins. They seem real... but were they?
- Player: I... I don't think so...
- Koftik: I see. We must now inform the king. Follow me, I'll lead you out.
- Player: At last! I've had enough of these caves.
- Koftik leads you back through the winding caverns to the entrance. But it feels like part of you has been left behind...
- (End of dialogue)
Before returning to the King
- Player: Thanks for showing me the way out Koftik.
- Koftik: Always a pleasure. Have you informed the king about Iban?
- Player: No, not yet.
- Koftik: This is no time to linger. The king must know that Iban is dead. This is a truly historical event for Ardougne.
- (End of dialogue)
After Underground Pass
- Player: Hello Koftik.
- Koftik: Hello adventurer, how's things?
- Player: Not bad, yourself?
- Koftik: I'm good... just keeping an eye out.
- (End of dialogue)
After Underground Pass, Inside Iban's temple

- Player: These traps don't get any easier. But I'm alright, thanks.
