Standard dialogue

  • Apothecary: I am the Apothecary. I brew potions. Do you need anything specific?
  • If the player is carrying a Combat path voucher and hasn't received all possible rewards yet:
    • Player: I have this voucher for completing the combat Adventure Path, it says to come talk to you about claiming my Adventure Path reward.
    • If the player hasn't claimed their rewards yet and is on a free-to-play world:
      • Apothecary: Why yes, here are some energy potions.
      • (Player receives 5 energy potions.)
      • Apothecary: I do have more rewards for you, but you need to be on a members world for me to give you the reward. Maybe there is something else I can help you with.
      • Shows options as if the player weren't carrying a Combat path voucher
    • If the player hasn't claimed their member rewards yet and is on a free-to-play world:
      • Apothecary: I do have more rewards for you, but you need to be on a members world for me to give you the reward. Maybe there is something else I can help you with.

  • If the player isn't carrying a Combat path voucher or is carrying a Combat path voucher and has received all possible rewards already:
    • Can you make potions for me?

    • (If the player has lost the hat used in A Tail of Two Cats:) Talk about A Tail of Two Cats.

      • Player: Hello Apothecary, I've lost that hat you gave me.
      • Apothecary: No problem, I get plenty of these from Gielinor Hospital Supplies.

      • Nurse's Hat
        • (Player receives the Nurse's Hat.)
        • The Apothecary has given you a Nurse's Hat.

      • Doctor's Hat
        • (Player receives the Doctor's Hat.)

        • Player: You wouldn't be able to make any other cat potions, would you?
        • Apothecary: I have no plans to branch out into cat potions at the moment, but if there was sufficient demand for them I might change my mind.

      • (If the player has started the Romeo & Juliet quest and talked to Father Lawrence:) Talk about Romeo & Juliet.

        • If player has not started Romeo & Juliet:
          • Apothecary: Well I hear young Romeo's having a little woman trouble but other than that all's quiet on the eastern front. Can I do something for you?

          • Apothecary: Sad about that affair with young Romeo and Juliet...
          • Apothecary: I hear every time Romeo sees Juliet now he runs away screaming something about ghosts and Juliet's cousin?
          • Apothecary: Always did think he was a bit of a strange one...
          • Apothecary: Anyway! Life goes on and so does business! Can I do something for you?

        • Apothecary: I do indeed. I gave it to my mother. That's why I now live alone.

Romeo & Juliet

  • Apothecary: I am the Apothecary. I brew potions. Do you need anything specific?
  • (Non-quest dialogue) Can you make potions for me?
  • Talk about something else.
    • Talk about Romeo & Juliet.
      • If the player hasn't talked to the Apothecary before:
        • Player: Apothecary, Father Lawrence sent me. I need a Cadava potion to help Romeo and Juliet.
        • Apothecary: Cadava potion. It's pretty nasty. And hard to make.
        • Apothecary: Wing of rat, tail of frog. Ear of snake and horn of dog.
        • Apothecary: I have all that, but I need some Cadava berries.
        • Apothecary: You will have to find them while I get the rest ready. Bring them here when you have them. But be careful. They are nasty.
        • If the player has cadava berries in their inventory:
          • Player: Conveniently, I have some here.
          • The player gives the Apothecary the cadava berries.
          • You hand over the berries, which the Apothecary shakes up in a vial of strange liquid.
          • Apothecary: Phew! Here is what you need.
          • (Player receives a cadava potion.)
          • The Apothecary gives you a Cadava potion.
          • (End of dialogue)
        • If the player does not have cadava berries in their inventory:
          • What do these berries look like?
            • Player: What do these berries look like?
            • Apothecary: They're a nice bright pink colour, with green leaves, stalks are a pale brown colour...you can't miss them. They look pretty tasty, but I wouldn't advise eating them.
            • (Shows previous options)
          • Where can I get these berries?
            • Player: Where can I get these berries?
            • Apothecary: I think I saw some recently in the local vicinity. Oh yes, that's right! There was a little bit of commotion when some kids visited the south eastern Varrock mining pit. The trip was disrupted because some kids
            • Apothecary: had found some cadavaberry bushes and they started picking them. They wrapped that trip up pretty quickly!
            • (Shows previous options)
          • How are these berries dangerous?
            • Player: How are these berries dangerous?
            • Apothecary: Hmm, they're generally okay, but if handled improperly they can be a bit nasty. And I certainly wouldn't advise drinking the potion!
            • (Shows previous options)
          • Ok, thanks.
            • Player: Ok, thanks.
            • (End of dialogue)
      • If the player has talked to the Apothecary about the cadava potion:
        • If the player doesn't have either cadava berries or the cadava potion in their inventory:
          • Apothecary: Keep searching for those Cadavaberries[sic]. They're needed for the potion.
          • (End of dialogue)
        • If the player has cadava berries in their inventory:
          • Apothecary: Well done. You have the berries.
          • The player gives the Apothecary the cadava berries.
          • You hand over the berries, which the Apothecary shakes up in a vial of strange liquid.
          • Apothecary: Phew! Here is what you need.

          • The Apothecary gives you a Cadava potion.

        • If the player has the cadava potion in their inventory or bank:
          • Player: Thank you for the Cadava potion.

          • Player: I gave Juliet the Cadava potion.
          • Apothecary: Good, good. I hope it helps that young couple find happiness.

Drinking Cadava potion

  • Yes, I'll drink it all down.
    • In defiance of of Father Lawrence's warnings, you drink the entire contents of the potion.
    • Player: Urk!
    • Screen shakes back and forth then blacks out
    • Apothecary: Blimey... you've been out for hours! Are you ok? People were tripping over you as they walked into the shop.
    • (End of dialogue)
  • No, I'm having second thoughts now.

One Small Favour

Diary (Shades of Mort'ton)

  • You show the Serum book to the Apothecary.
  • If the player has not traded the book to the Apothecary yet:
    • Apothecary: Do you want to trade the diary yet? I'd like to pass the information on to the scientific community in Varrock.
    • Yes, I'll trade it for herblore training.
      • Player: Yes, I'll trade it for herblore training.
      • Apothecary: Great...
      • The apothecary trains you in herblore.
      • Player loses Diary from inventory and receives herblore experience.
      • Apothecary: Ok, that's all I can teach you. Many thanks for the diary.
      • (End of dialogue)
    • No thanks, I want to keep hold if[sic] it a bit longer.
      • Player: No thanks, I want to keep hold if[sic] it a bit longer.
      • Apothecary: Oh, that's a shame... Come back if you change your mind.
