Standard dialogue

- Player: You look ready for combat.
- Derse Venator: Aye, indeed I am.
- Player: What brings you to this place? I can't imagine anyone coming here by choice.
- Derse Venator: You're right, I did not come here by choice. I came here for vengeance.
- Player: Vengeance? Against whom? Did someone take your gardening equipment?
- Derse Venator: My mission is not against another man and I will not have it mocked.
- Player: Okay, sorry, I was just trying to lighten the mood. Care to tell me what it is against then?
- Derse Venator: Callisto, the great bear of the wilderness.
- With no Callisto kills:
- Player: Can't say I've come across it before.
- Derse Venator: I'm not surprised, you'd do well to avoid him. Callisto is a great bear, his strength and size enhanced by the corruption of the Wilderness.
- (Continues below)
- With at least one Callisto kill:
- Player: Ah, I've had a few run ins with him myself.
- Derse Venator: Then you'll know he's not something to mock. I'm surprised you survived your encounter with such a great and corrupted beast.
- Player: I'm stronger than I look, I've seen my fair share of monsters.

- Player: Why are you so intent on taking him down?
- Derse Venator: Callisto killed my father. After hearing of a great beast in the heart of the Wilderness, he took it upon himself to bring him down.
- Derse Venator: He left our family home in Hosidius to hunt it down and...
- Derse Venator: ... I haven't seen my father since. I swore I would avenge him and have dedicated my whole life to training for that moment.
- Player: What happens after? When you do take Callisto down that is.
- Derse Venator: Oh... uh... I never thought about that...
- Derse Venator: My whole life has been spent preparing to avenge my father, I never thought about anything else...
- Player: You seem like you've got a lot to think about then. I'll leave you to it.

- (If the player has Craw's bow or the Fangs of Venenatis:) Ask about rare item.
- With only Craw's bow in the inventory:
- Player: Hey. Do you know anything about this?
- You show the bow to Derse Venator.
- Derse Venator: Ah, a fellow marksman. That's a unique bow you have there.
- Player: Do you know anything about it?
- Derse Venator: I've done my fair bit of fletching in my day. I'd say this bow can be improved upon.
- Derse Venator: See those etches on it? You could put something sharp in there to improve the bow's strength.
- Player: Interesting! I'll be on the lookout for a powerful enhancement like that.

- With only the Fangs of Venenatis in the inventory:
- Player: Hey. Do you know anything about this?
- You show the Fangs of venenatis to Derse Venator.
- Derse Venator: Those look like strong fangs. You could probably attach them to a bow to make it stronger.
- Player: Interesting! I'll be on the lookout for a suitable bow.

- Player: Hey. Do you know anything about this?
- You show the bow to Derse Venator.

- Player: Yeah. I got them from a really big bear.
- Derse Venator: By the gods... This bear must be even bigger than I imagined.
- Player: So do you know if the claws would be useful at all?
- Derse Venator: I... have a lot to think about. Perhaps Andros Mai over there can help you while I think.

- Player: Hey. Do you know anything about this?
- You show the skull to Derse Venator.
- Derse Venator: That looks like any skull to me. Who's is it?
- Player: It's mine. I picked it up.
- Derse Venator: I meant... Sigh. Never mind. What do you want with the skull?
- Player: I'm trying to find out if it's useful.
- Derse Venator: Don't know much about skulls, myself. That mage over there might know.
- Derse Venator: She's into some weird stuff, that one. Think she said her name was Phabelle Bile.

- Player: Hey. Do you know anything about this?
- You show the weapon piece to Derse Venator.
- Derse Venator: No, I'm afraid not.
- Player: Oh. Do you know someone who might know more?
- Derse Venator: Just earlier I saw this lady run down into the basement of this pub.
- Derse Venator: I don't know who she is, but she looks like a strange one.
- Derse Venator: Strange attracts strange, so I reckon she might know about your strange weapon piece.
