The Calamity Coven was a group of three women who were once responsible for running the Duel Arena, known today as the Emir's Arena. Secretly followers of Zaros,[1] the Calamity Coven stained the reputation of the once glorious Duel Arena, turning it into an immensely corrupt place where they used their positions to accumulate vast amounts of ill-gotten wealth.[2][3]
Maoma the Corrupt Captain was the captain of the Emir's guard, and was assigned to oversee the fights at the Arena, ensuring that order was upheld. In reality, she abused her authority by taking bribes and rigged fights so that the Coven would get rich at the people's expense.[4][5]
Saika the Puppet Master, who was in charge of the Arena's expense accounts, secretly falsified the costs of operation so that the Coven kept all the profits, and abused the Emir's funding for the Arena by paying destitute citizens to work for a small amount of the funding, whilst keeping the rest for herself.[6][7]
Lastly, Koriff the Crowd Pleaser acted as the Arena's hostess. Using her charming personality, she'd pamper rich visitors and provided them with the best seats and service, all while collaborating with hired thieves to pick their pockets.[8] More so, she'd whip up the excitement of the crowd to coax them into betting bigger amounts for fights,[9] and would often bet against certain competitors and secretly kill them off with her sniping skills.[10]
Eventually, the Emir caught wind of the illicit activity in the Duel Arena, and the Calamity Coven were forced to leave, though their eventual fate remains unknown. The Arena was renovated,[11] and new Arena Guards were assigned to guard the renamed "Emir's Arena",[12] and Mubariz, who owned the land the Arena stands on, now sells the Calamity Coven's old possessions as rewards to those competing in the Arena.
Trivia
The Calamity Coven is likely a reference to the real-world trading activities that were rampant in the Duel Arena prior to its removal.

Her greed knew no bounds as she fudged the numbers for years - claiming the cost of running the place was so high that it barely made any profit. These sketchy numbers made their way to the Emir, and he kept shelling out to keep it going. Unfortunately for him, the funding would go straight to Saika's pocket. She would pay destitute citizens a pittance to pretend they were working, just to keep up her ruse."
