How to use permissions

Emerald+: inviting a player to the clan

All players are welcome to join the clan so long as:

  • Their account name is not (too) offensive.
  • They have been directed to the read the clan rules and information ("rs:cc on the wiki").

There are several ways to invite a player to the clan, but we'll list the most convenient way for both parties here.

  1. Click "Settings" in the clan's chat-channel to open the Clan Settings interface.
  2. Click "Applicants", and then click "Invite applications" on the top left of the interface.
  3. Have the applicant join the clan chat as a guest if they haven't already.
  4. Have them open the Clan Settings interface in the same manner you did.
  5. Have them click "Apply" in their Clan Settings interface.
  6. From your end, return to the Applicants interface and you should see the applicant's name there.
  7. Click their name and press "Accept".
  8. If they have linked their wiki account before joining, ask for their wiki name and have an Administrator give the appropriate rank. (By virtue of the way the clan permissions settings were made, ranks below Administrators cannot change clan ranks.)

It's also nice to give them a warm welcome when they enter the channel after being invited.

Sheriff+: kicking a guest

Kicking a guest removes them from the clan chat and prevents them from rejoining for an hour.

To kick a guest, either:

  • Right click their name in the clan chat side panel, and select "Kick guest [player name]".
  • Right click their name/a line of text said in the chat window and select "Kick [player name]".

A message is automatically said by your character to the clan chat channel - "Attempting to kick player from clan chat..."

Admin+: changing a clan member's rank

The member list.

By virtue of the way the clan permissions settings were made, ranks below Administrators cannot change clan ranks.

  1. Open the Clan Settings and select the "Members" button.
  2. Set the minimum/maximum ranks on the bottom to the clan member's rank, ex. "Show ranks from: Sapphire to: Sapphire"
  3. Search for the clan member in the list. You can also click the search button and type the clan member's name in.
  4. Click either of the dropdown menus and select "Rank".
  5. Click the rank name; a pop up menu will appear, showing the ranks you are able to change.
  6. Confirm that you are changing the rank of the correct clan member.

Admin+: banning/unbanning a player from the clan

By virtue of the way the clan permissions settings were made, ranks below Administrators cannot issue bans.

Banning a player removes them from the clan chat and prevents them from ever rejoining. Clan members cannot be banned from the clan; they must be expelled from the clan, and then banned.

To ban a guest, either:

  • Right click their name in the clan chat side panel, and select "Ban guest [player name]".
  • Right click their name/a line of text said in the chat window and select "Ban [player name]".
  • Open the Clan Settings and select the "Ban" button. This opens the ban list, and you can then click the "Add" button and type the player's name in.

To unban a player, simply return to the ban list and click on the player's name.

Admin+: expelling clan members

Expelling a clan member removes them from the clan entirely. They will not be able to rejoin unless re-applying via the normal methods. If necessary, the expelled player may be banned; see the previous section on banning players.

  4. Click either of the dropdown menus and select "Expel".
  5. Click "Expel player" next to the clan member's name.
  6. Confirm that you are expelling the correct clan member.

A message, seen by all clan members online, is automatically broadcast to the clan chat channel - "[player name] has expelled [clan member] from the clan."
