Nechryael are a type of demon that can be assigned as a slayer task at level 80 Slayer and 85 combat by various Slayer masters.

Nechryael attack with melee, and can periodically summon death spawns to assist them in battle. These death spawns are fairly weak, but can often be a nuisance as they deal inaccurate typeless melee meaning that Protect from Melee does not work against them, and they cannot be attacked until the nechryael that summoned them is killed in single-way zones. These death spawn will lose aggro if the player runs far enough and will despawn after some time.

A stronger variant of nechryael, the Greater Nechryael, can be found in the Catacombs of Kourend, Iorwerth Dungeon and Wilderness Slayer Cave. These have higher stats and an improved drop table, but otherwise mechanically the same as normal nechryael. They also share the same superior, the Nechryarch. The Nechryarch summons a trio of Chaotic death spawns, each one using a single combat style of magic, melee and ranged, though their attacks can be blocked against. However, it is best to run away from them when they appear as they will overwhelm the player, as they do not reaggro when the player returns to attack the Nechryarch.

A common method to completing this task is to barrage them at the Catacombs of Kourend, due to the numerous nechryael and multicombat area. An alternative is to melee them, but this is only recommended in the Slayer Tower or Iorwerth Dungeon as these are single-combat areas, and players are unlikely to find an empty world in the Catacombs of Kourend. The Slayer Tower nechryaels will provide more herb seeds, whereas the Iowerth Dungeon nechryaels are the same as those in the Catacombs of Kourend. The Slayer Tower also benefits from the bonus experience perk of the Morytania legs, while players can also get crystal shards from the Iorwerth Dungeon.
