Starting out

Juliet

First talk

  • Ask about the birthday party.
    • Juliet: Oh, I just can't be bothered.
    • Player: What's the matter Juliet?
    • Juliet: I've been told I have to throw the birthday party at my place this year, but I don't feel like it, my life is just tragic.
    • Juliet: I don't care about this party.
    • Player: Sometimes I think my life's nothing but a comedy, but I don't let it get me down. Why so glum chum?
    • If the player has not completed Romeo & Juliet:
      • Juliet: I have no-one in my life, I can't be with my love, Romeo. There is nothing for me to wake up to each day, I feel like my life is a repeat of the same day over and over.
      • Player: You need to get out and enjoy life Juliet, slay some dragons and explore the world.
      • Juliet: I wouldn't go that far! I'm just tired of being locked in this house with just my cousin, Phillipa.
      • Juliet: The only thing that cheers me up is looking over to Gertrude's house and seeing her kittens playing.
      • (Continues below)
    • If the player has completed Romeo & Juliet:
      • Juliet: Romeo doesn't care for me anymore, the minute he saw Phillipa, he's been all over her. I have no one anymore.
      • Player: Oh come on, it can't be that bad. Is Romeo really worth getting this upset over? He's a bit empty headed if you ask me.
      • Juliet: He was all I had, now the only thing keeping me going is the soft sounds of Gertrude's Cats.
      • (Continues below)
    • Player: Sounds like you need a new friend, would you like me to see if Gertrude will give you one of her kittens?
    • Juliet: I've asked her before, but we aren't on good standing anymore, ever since I planted lilies in our garden.
    • Player: Why would she be upset about lilies?
    • Juliet: They're quite poisonous to cats, how was I supposed to know, I'm not a cat doctor...
    • Player: Maybe getting you a pet isn't a good idea then, perhaps I should go talk to your cousin for some ideas.
    • Juliet: I'll be here...alone, waiting for the next adventurer to come along and try to help.
    • (End of dialogue)
  • (Non-event dialogue) Something else.

      • Player: I'm not here to find out how you and Romeo are getting on, I'm here to help Juliet.
      • Phillipa: Typical, what is she upset about this time?
      • Player: Her father put her in charge of the birthday party this year, but she's not feeling up to it, recent events have got her feeling quite down.
      • (Continues below)
    • Phillipa: Why don't you try cheering her up?
    • Player: I offered to get her one of Gertrude's cats, but she told me there's little chance of that happening.
    • Phillipa: Hmm, why don't you try dressing up as one, you could be her emotional support human.
    • Player: That sounds like a terrible idea...
    • Player: Surely there's something less... weird... I can do instead?
    • Phillipa: Got any better ideas?
    • Player: ... no.
    • Phillipa: Thought not, so since she loves cats, why don't you dress up as one and dance for her.
    • Player: I'm not going to dress up as a cat...
    • Phillipa: Fine, but what about just the ears?
    • Player: ... I suppose I can do that.
    • Player: Where am I supposed to find some? I'm not about to take some off a cat.
