- Ali the Mayor: Welcome, adventurer, to the town of Pollnivneach, the gateway to Menaphos and Al Kharid. My name is Ali and I'm the mayor of this town. I hope you enjoy your stay here.
- Player: Thank you. That is one of the warmest welcomes I've ever had! People generally treat travelling adventurers with suspicion.
- Ali the Mayor: All are welcome here. Now more than ever I suppose.
- Player: What do you mean by that?
- Ali the Mayor: There's trouble in town, and a lot of villagers have left as a result. Things are looking dire.
