- Player: Who were you?
- Chuck: I'm Chuck. I used to exchange logs for certificates, so people could trade them in bulk more conveniently. Certificates were what we used before banks automatically issued banknotes for most tradeable items.
- Chuck: Even today, banknotes are sometimes referred to as 'certs', in memory of the certificates we used before.
- Chuck: I had colleagues who'd exchange other items for certificates - Niles, Miles and Giles were the most famous of us. But those three found new jobs rather than retiring like I did.

- Player: Do you think you might leave the Realm?
- Chuck: No, I don't think so. The big high-street banks made my work useless, and I don't fancy joining Niles, Miles and Giles on their weird treks.
