Standard dialogue
If the player has not started the Romeo & Juliet quest by talking to Romeo
- Juliet: Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Bold adventurer, have you seen Romeo on your travels? Skinny guy, a bit wishy washy, head full of poetry.
- Yes I've met him.
- Player: Yes I've met him. He seemed a bit depressed.
- Juliet: Yes, that sounds like Romeo. I'd be very grateful if you could deliver a message to him?
- Certainly, I'll do so straight away.
- Player: Certainly, I'll do so straight away.
- Juliet: Many thanks! Oh, I'm so very grateful. You may be our only hope.
- Player receives Message (Romeo & Juliet).
- (End of dialogue)
- No, he was a little too weird for me.
- Player: No, he was a little too weird for me.
- Juliet: Oh dear, that will be the ruin of our love. Well, I will just stay here and worry. You unromantic soul.
- (End of dialogue)
- No, I think I'd have remembered if I'd met him.
- Player: No, I think I'd have remembered if I'd met him.
- Juliet: Oh, well that's a shame, I was hoping that you might deliver a message to him for me.
- Player: Sorry, but I don't even know what he looks like or where he is?
- Juliet: Oh, he's so lovely...in his own soppy and confused way. You should spot him easily! He's usually fending off the advances of the Varrockian market women. Are you sure I couldn't persuade you to deliver my itsy bitsty
- Juliet: widdle message to my Romeo?
- Certainly, I will do so straight away.
- Player: Certainly, I'll do so straight away.
- Juliet: Many thanks! Oh, I'm so very grateful. You may be our only hope.
- Player receives Message (Romeo & Juliet).
- (End of dialogue)
- No, sorry, I have better things to do.
- Player: No, sorry, I have better things to do.
- Juliet: Then, I will not keep you from them. Goodbye.
- (End of dialogue)
- I guess I could look for him for you.
- Player: I guess I could look for him for you.
- Juliet: Oh, that would be so wonderful of you! I'd be most grateful if you could please deliver a message to him?
- Player: Certainly, I'll do so straight away.
- Juliet: Many thanks! Oh, I'm so very grateful. You may be our only hope.
- Player receives Message (Romeo & Juliet).
- (End of dialogue)
- I think you could do better than Romeo!
- Player: I think you could do better than Romeo!
- Juliet: He has his good points, he's not obsessed with fighting, magic and ranging at least.
- (End of dialogue)
If the player completed Romeo & Juliet
- Juliet: I sat in that cold crypt for ages waiting for Romeo.
- Juliet: That useless fool never showed up.
- Juliet: And all I got was indigestion. I am done with men like him.
- Juliet: Now go away before I call my father!
- (End of dialogue)
Romeo & Juliet
Meeting Juliet
- Player: Juliet, I come from Romeo. He begs me to tell you that he cares still.
- Juliet: Oh how my heart soars to hear this news! Please take this message to him with great haste.
- Player: Well, I hope it's good news...he was quite upset when I left him.
- Juliet: He's quite often upset...the poor sensitive soul. But I don't think he's going to take this news very well, however, all is not lost.
- Juliet: Everything is explained in the letter, would you be so kind and deliver it to him please?
- Player: Certainly, I'll do so straight away.
- Juliet: Many thanks! Oh, I'm so very grateful. You may be our only hope.
- Player receives Juliet's message.
- (End of dialogue)
Helping Juliet
If the player has not delivered the message
- Player: Hello Juliet!
- Juliet: Hello there...have you delivered the message to Romeo yet? What news do you have from my loved one?
- Player: Oh, sorry, I've not had chance to deliver it yet!
- Juliet: Oh, that's a shame. I've been waiting so patiently to hear some word from him.
- (End of dialogue)
If the player has lost the message
- Juliet: Hello there...have you delivered the message to Romeo yet? What news do you have from my loved one?
- Player: Hmmm, that's the thing about messages...they're so easy to misplace...
- Juliet: How could you lose that message? It was incredibly important...and it took me an age to write! I used joined up writing and everything!
- Juliet: Please, take this new message to him, and please don't lose it.
- (End of dialogue)
If the player has delivered the message
- Player: Hi Juliet, I have passed your message on to Romeo..he's scared half out of his wits at the news that your father wants to kill him.
- Juliet: Yes, unfortunately my father is quite the hunter, you may have seen some the animal head trophies on the wall. And it would be so awful to see Romeo's head up there with them!
- Player: I know what you mean...
- Player: ...his hair colour will clash terribly with the rest of the decoration.
- Juliet: That's not what I was suggesting at all...
- Player: I know, I know...I was just kidding.
- Player: Anyway, don't worry because I'm on the case. I'm going to get some help from Father Lawrence.
- Juliet: Oh yes, I'm sure that Father Lawrence will come up with a solution. I hope you find him soon.
- (End of dialogue)
Cadava potion
- If the player doesn't have a Cadava potion in their inventory:
- Player: Hi Juliet!
- Juliet: Hi [player name], how close am I to being with my true love Romeo?
- Player: Sorry, I still have to get a special potion for you.
- Juliet: Oh, I hope it isn't a love potion because you would be wasting your time. My love for Romeo grows stronger every minute...
- Player: That must be because you're not with him...
- Juliet: Oh no! I long to be close to my true love Romeo!
- Player: Well, ok then...I'll set about getting this potion as quickly as I can!
- Juliet: Fair luck to you, the end is close.
- If the player has a Cadava potion in their inventory:
- Player: Hi Juliet! I have an interesting proposition for you...suggested by Father Lawrence. It may be the only way you'll be able to escape from this house and be with Romeo.
- Juliet: Go on....
- Player: I have a Cadava potion here, suggested by Father Lawrence. If you drink it, it will make you appear dead!
- Juliet: Yes...
- Player: And when you appear dead...your still and lifeless corpse will be removed to the crypt!
- Juliet: Oooooh, a cold dark creepy crypt...
- Juliet: ...sounds just peachy!
- Player: Then...Romeo can steal into the crypt and rescue you just as you wake up!
- Juliet: ...and this is the great idea for getting me out of here?
- Player: To be fair, I can't take all the credit...in fact...it was all Father Lawrence's suggestion...
- Juliet: Ok...if this is the best we can do...hand over the potion!
- You pass the suspicious potion to Juliet.
- Juliet: Wonderful! I just hope Romeo can remember to get me from the crypt.
- Juliet: Please go to Romeo and make sure he understands. Although I love his gormless, lovelorn soppy ways, he can be a bit dense sometimes and I don't want to wake up in that crypt on my own.
- A cutscene starts
- Juliet: Oh, here's Phillipa, my cousin...she's in on the plot too!
- Juliet: She's going to make it seem even more convincing!
- Phillipa: Yes, I'm quite the actress! Good luck dear cousin!
- Juliet: Right...bottoms up!
- Juliet: Urk!
- Phillipa: Oh no...Juliet has...died!
- Player: You might be more believable if you're not smiling when you say it...
- Phillipa: Oh yeah...you might be right...ok, let's try again.
- Phillipa: Oh no...Juliet has...died?
- Player: Perhaps a bit louder, like you're upset...that your cousin has died!
- Phillipa: Right...yes...Ok, ok, I think I'm getting my motivation now. Ok, let's try this again!
- Phillipa: OH NO...JULIET HAS...DIED?.... Oooooohhhhhh....(sob), (sob).Juliet...my poor dead cousin!
- Draul Leptoc: What's all that screaming?
- Draul Leptoc: Oh no! My poor daughter...what has become of you?
- Phillipa: Poor Juliet...make preparations for her body to be placed in the Crypt...
- A cutscene ends
During the 2020 Birthday event
Initial Conversation
- Ask about the birthday party.
- Juliet: Oh, I just can't be bothered.
- Player: What's the matter Juliet?
- Juliet: I've been told I have to throw the birthday party at my place this year, but I don't feel like it, my life is just tragic.
- Juliet: I don't care about this party.
- Player: Sometimes I think my life's nothing but a comedy, but I don't let it get me down. Why so glum chum?
- If the player has completed Romeo & Juliet:
- Juliet: Romeo doesn't care for me anymore, the minute he saw Phillipa, he's been all over her. I have no one anymore.
- Player: Oh come on, it can't be that bad. Is Romeo really worth getting this upset over? He's a bit empty headed if you ask me.
- Juliet: He was all I had, now the only thing keeping me going is the soft sounds of Gertrude's Cats.
- (Continues below)
- If the player has not completed Romeo & Juliet:
- Juliet: I have no-one in my life, I can't be with my love, Romeo. There is nothing for me to wake up to each day, I feel like my life is a repeat of the same day over and over.
- Player: You need to get out and enjoy life Juliet, slay some dragons and explore the world.
- Juliet: I wouldn't go that far! I'm just tired of being locked in this house with just my cousin, Phillipa.
- Juliet: The only thing that cheers me up is looking over to Gertrude's house and seeing her kittens playing.
- (Continues below)
- Player: Sounds like you need a new friend, would you like me to see if Gertrude will give you one of her kittens?
- Juliet: I've asked her before, but we aren't on good standing anymore, ever since I planted lilies in our garden.
- Player: Why would she be upset about lilies?
- Juliet: They're quite poisonous to cats, how was I supposed to know, I'm not a cat doctor...
- Player: Maybe getting you a pet isn't a good idea then, perhaps I should go talk to your cousin for some ideas.
- Juliet: I'll be here...alone, waiting for the next adventurer to come along and try to help.
