Crystal

Crystal is a material used by the elves. It was a present from their goddess Seren and is infused with some of her divine power. It is an important part of elven culture. It can be shaped, formed, and magically charged into weapons, tools, or other items with magical powers. There are four different forms of elf crystals: crystal weapon seed, crystal tool seed, crystal armour seed, and crystal teleport seed. Crystal seeds can be transformed by sufficiently skilled singers; the only known characters who can do this are Ilfeen, Reese, and Conwenna. Eluned near Lletya (or the house portal in Prifddinas) will charge a crystal teleport seed into an Elven teleport crystal.

Weapons and armour start with a charge of 2,500 losing one charge every time it is used. When the item completely degrades it will revert to a crystal seed. Items cannot be charged or traded until they are in this seed form. They are also tradeable immediately after recharging.

Tools degrade differently and do not revert to the tool seed form when depleted. Instead of reverting, the tool will become unusable until the player charges them with more crystal shards.
