The Burning driftwood is a result of the player setting fire to the driftwood below Ithoi the Navigator's hut, south-west of the Corsair Cove, during the quest The Corsair Curse. After the player set fire to the driftwood, Ithoi comes downstairs and uses a water spell to put out the flames, before returning upstairs, proving that he is not sick and therefor not under the "curse".
