Dampen Melee is an overhead prayer from the Ruinous Powers prayer book, unlocked at level 71 Prayer. It can be used by selecting the Ruinous Powers relic in Trailblazer Reloaded League.

Dampen Melee reduces 100% of incoming melee damage dealt by NPCs (40% for other players). In exchange, non-melee damage taken by the player is increased by 10%, rounded down.

The prayer was originally available to use on a beta world as part of the DT2 Rewards Beta after having passed the relevant consultation poll, where players could playtest it in various content before a second poll was brought forward to ask players whether they'd like the prayers to be implemented in the live game as a reward from completing the quest Desert Treasure II - The Fallen Empire.

The Prayer level required to activate the prayer has been increased from 70 to 71. The prayer's description in-game has been changed. Previously, it was "Provides up to 90% protection from melee damage with a 50% chance to reflect 10% of the original damage back at the opponent." The prayer's drain rate has been reduced from 30 points per minute to 24.

Previously, it was "Reduces Melee damage taken by 90%, 50% chance to deal 10% of pre-mitigated damage back to opponent." The prayer icon was graphically updated.
