The Pirate message is a quest item used only in Pirate's Treasure. It is found in a locked chest, that is unlocked with a key, on the 1^st floor^[UK]2^nd floor^[US] of the Blue Moon Inn.

The message informs the player of the buried treasure's location somewhere in Falador Park. It is kept upon quest completion, but has no use.

If the player uses the drop trick to obtain multiple chest keys, selecting "open" on the chest for a second time will tell the player that the chest is locked, even though they have a key in their inventory. However, if the player manually uses the key on the chest, it will open, allowing the player to obtain multiple pirate messages. After reading the pirate message it will be no longer possible to obtain duplicates; the key will snap and be destroyed.
