Bird snare is scenery that is used to provide an item spawn of a bird snare. It has the appearance of an item including an orange name and red dot on the minimap, but unlike normal item spawns does not disappear after being picked up.
This spawn is only used on the Isle of Souls in place of a real bird snare item spawn. This was added to allow ironmen to obtain the item from the spawn, which is otherwise blocked to prevent an exploit in which ironmen could pick up the item from other players' fallen traps. Similarly, Land's End hunter items are made available in crates, while the bird snare spawn at the Necropolis is a real item spawn, and therefore not obtainable by ironmen.
