Carl is a graahk mentioned in the 14th Postbag from the Hedge. When asked why the graahks don't jump over the pits adventurers make, Carl says that they let themselves die in protest of the injustice in the government. He then talks about communism before he is poked in the eye by his brother Chico.

Carl is a member of the Graahks brothers, which also includes Chico and Groucho.
