Walkthrough

Supply chain issues

Make your way to Emelio's house in Outer Fortis, just outside the eastern entrance to Civitas illa Fortis. Recognising you as an "easterner", he enlists your help in a business venture involving something called a kabit. He tells you about how he used to be against Varlamore opening its borders to the world, but after trying the kabit, he became more open to the idea, and describes to you the kabit: an amazing blend of meat, spices, and salad wrapped in bread.

The PIN pad for the spice box.

You will correct him that the food he ate was a kebab, and he will voice his desire to introduce the kebab to the kingdom by opening up a kebab shop. However, the Kharidian spices he ordered has not been delivered yet, and he asks you to speak to the Spice Merchant in the bazaar to see what the delay is. Additionally, the buffalo meat he ordered hasn't come either, which is supposed to be delivered by Alba at Ortus Farm.

Make your way west to the bazaar; the spice merchant can be found at the south-eastern area of the central polygon at the spice stall. Ask her about the missing delivery, and she'll tell you the spices, which she ordered from a reputable supplier named Ali Morrisane, arrived in the morning but is locked. Offer to help her open the box, which is a four-digit PIN. Based on the relative brightness of the number pads, you can discern the order of the numbers to be input as 2546. Press the -> key to open the box, and she will thank you and send the box Emelio's way.

Next, make your way further west all the way to Ortus Farm and speak to Alba inside the building. She will tell you the order was delayed as a pack of wolves have been causing issues for them lately. You will offer to deal with it, and she tells you their den is found directly west of the farm.

The safespot used to fight the Dire Wolf Alpha.

Run all the way westwards until you see a pack of dire wolves. Enter the wolf den there to face the Dire Wolf Alpha; it is level 113, and can summon dire wolves that use highly accurate ranged attacks. However, it will only do so if in melee distance, and players can use a safespot to safely kill the alpha by quickly moving to the small enclosure between the pile of bones and stalagmites north of the cave exit.

The golden ratio

Return to Alba to inform her the problem has been dealt with, and she'll tell you that the meat was being delivered during your time away. When you arrive at Emelio's house, you'll find he has three "connoisseurs" (in reality patrons of the pub just west) and has given them the individual ingredients to try. He will ask that you find the perfect ratio for the kebab.

Talk to Vincens, Renata, and Lucas for their opinions on the ingredients. Vicens tells you that there should be as much sauce as there is spice and salad, Renata tells you to make sure there's less spice than there is salad, and Lucas tells you there should be twice as much meat as there is salad.

Taking into consideration their thoughts, give the following portion amounts to Emelio:

  • 4 portions of meat
  • 2 portions of salad
  • 1 portion of spice
  • 3 portions of sauce

Once you confirm the amounts are correct, tell him it is perfect and he will give you a test kebab that the "connoisseurs" can try out. Give it to any one of the three, who will tell you the kebab is brilliant and amazing.

Guerilla marketing

Items needed: A weapon, armour and food.
Items recommended: Prayer potions.

Speak to Emelio, who will move on to the next phase of his plan: marketing the kebabs at the Fortis Colosseum. He will give you another two test kebabs to bring to Lelia, located in the southern room of the lobby area where the Teoki of Ralos and Ranul of the Colosseum are found.

Though initially skeptical given Emelio's history of bad business ideas, she changes her mind upon tasting his kebab. She will tell you they have a free advertising spot for the next contest, and suggests you head in, eat one of the kebabs, and fight a young minotaur as part of your advertising act. Prepare for an encounter with a level-193 NPC, either inside the Colosseum bank or just outside the entrance.

Fighting the young minotaur.

You will be brought into the arena, whilst the Colosseum Announcer advertises Emelio's kebab. You eat the kebab as instructed, but the young minotaur mistakenly believes you ate minotaur meat rather than buffalo meat, and proceeds to attack you in anger.

The minotaur uses melee attacks, but can move at running speed, path around the pillars, and is immune to binds and poison. It is weak to slash attacks. It can use two special attacks:

  • When it shouts Moo!, it launches a magic attack. There is enough time to switch protection prayers.
  • When it shouts Moooooo!, it will attack 1 tick faster.

If you die or leave the arena, you can speak to Lelia to re-enter. Once it is defeated, Lelia will be satisfied and tells you to return to Emelio and inform him of the good impression the kebabs made.

Return to Emelio, who will give you a premium discount on any Varlamorian kebabs you buy.
