Two warning signs flank the dark hole leading to the Lumbridge Swamp Caves, warning all passersby of the danger posed by the combustible swamp gasses within. Players who read the sign will also be warned of "vicious head-grabbing beasts", and advised to consult a Slayer Master.

Implicitly, the signs warn any impatient adventurer to purchase an inadequate light source from the candle seller lurking nearby.
