First dirty note

This language is fascinating. I've already managed to translate a few words, but it's going to take a lot more to discover anything of use.

From what I've found so far, it seems that most words are quite generic and often have multiple connected meanings depending on the context. For example, change things slightly and a word for 'sea' might suddenly mean 'river' instead. Change things even more, and it could become 'cold'. I'll need to bear this in mind as I continue my work.

Second dirty note

Vines! Vines everywhere! I'm on the verge of greatness here, but something always gets in the way.

On that note, a few vines may not be all I have to contend with. Upon returning to camp to pick up some secateurs, I found my journal had gone missing. It seems I'm not alone in my search. I'll need to be cautious.

Third dirty note

There's something different about this place. Something familiar. A stench of death that's hard to forget. Could this be where the Strangler was born?
