A cow tail was an item dropped from cows and their calves north of Lumbridge in the cow pen next to Fred the Farmer's house.

They could be pinned on cows without tails in order to help the cowboy during the 2018 Christmas event.

• During the 2018 Christmas event, Town Criers would occasionally exclaim "Cow seen with tail missing!".
