The animation of a greater magic cage once constructed.

The greater magic circle can be built in the floor space of the throne room in a player-owned house. It requires 89 Construction to build and when built, it gives 4,700 Construction experience. The player must have a hammer and a saw in their inventory to build it.

It traps players inside if they are standing on the floor space when the lever is pulled. It has the "Release", "Drop into oubliette", "Expel from house", and "Teleport to..." options.

The "Teleport to..." option will teleport characters inside the cage to a location of the user's choosing depending on which portals the owner's portal chamber has (a portal nexus will not work). This excludes the Annakarl, Ghorrock, Carrallanger, and Cemetery teleports, as they take players to the Wilderness.

As guests of the house have a tendency to teleport anyone inside the cage, house owners may choose instead to put a lesser magic cage in as it can only hold or drop players into the oubliette below.
