A journal is an unobtainable item released alongside the Creature of Fenkenstrain quest. It can only be seen in game by searching the bookcases upstairs in Fenkenstrain's Castle, and choosing any option other than Joy Of Grave Digging and Handy Maggot Avoidance Techniques.

It is possible that the Journal may have originally intended to be an obtainable item, perhaps belonging to Dr Fenkenstrain, but was repurposed to appear in the book interface instead.
