Sentinel Gortstein was a vampyre sentinel, who was responsible for guarding the Arboretum in Darkmeyer and the Blisterwood Tree within it. He was the recipient of the old note written by Sentinel Bloodmyre on how to weaken as well as strengthen it to allow cutting the wood and draining the sap.
