A smouldering pile of flesh is an item commonly dropped by tormented demons. It is dropped on the same loot table as the smouldering gland and the smouldering heart, and acts as a multi-use consumable item; unlike most items, which have a "Take" option on the ground, the item has an "Eat-from" option, and cannot be telegrabbed.

Eating from the flesh will heal a set amount of health scaling to their Hitpoints level, capping at 18 at level 99; players can overheal from this, capping at 117 Hitpoints. If the player is at or above this cap, the player will not eat from it. The pile can be eaten from four times before disappearing (for a total of 72 Hitpoints at level 99), and does not confer the attack delay that usually occurs when eating food.

Upon consuming the flesh, a game message in the chatbox will state Even as the flesh burns your throat, you feel your wounds begin to mend. Players have ten minutes to eat from the pile of flesh before it disappears from the ground; this timer is paused upon logging out.
