When a player stands on the trap, the vine grabs the player, who then cannot move for several seconds, depending on the player's Agility level. During this time other players and monsters in the dungeon can attack the player. Higher Agility levels will allow players to be trapped in the tangle vine for a shorter amount of time, and help players avoid the trap.
The tangle vine trap has a 12% chance of being passed at level 1, 47% chance at level 50, and an 82% chance at level 99. This is a linear relationship. It is thus affected if your stats have been drained (i.e. by a marble trap by 5, causing a reduction in 3.9% chance).[2]
