Up for the Challenge is an elite combat achievement which requires the player to kill Skotizo, or Awakened Altars without equipping a demonbane weapon.

Strategy

The most effective way to complete this achievement is to use the twisted bow, for its increased power and accuracy against monsters with high Magic bonuses, such as Skotizo. Players who do not own a twisted bow may instead opt to use regular melee attacks.

While this task prohibits equipping the Silverlight, Darklight, Arclight, Emberlight, Scorching bow or Burning Claws, it does not prohibit casting Demonbane spells, since those are not equipped weapons. Additionally, holy water is not considered to be a demonbane weapon for this task.

The altars are harder to disable without a demonbane weapon, but they stop respawning after three minutes. A slower but easy option is to stand away from Skotizo praying protect from magic for three minutes, then destroy the altars before attacking Skotizo.
