Mysterious Stranger is a shady individual found by the entrance to the Theatre of Blood. He sells players escape crystals, which allows players to teleport out of the Theatre of Blood.

Players may speak to him to start the A Night at the Theatre quest, where the player must complete the Theatre of Blood in any of the three modes. The Mysterious Stranger claims to work for some unnamed 'associates', who would like to see Verzik Vitur embarrassed. Should the player succeed the Mysterious Stranger will reveal, that he actually works for a master named Sugadinti and will reward the player for successfully completing the Theatre and humiliating its hostess.

When the Mysterious Stranger uses his mental abilities, the eyes in his chat head turn red.

Players who complete certain amounts of the Theatre of Blood may speak to the Mysterious Stranger to receive a cape, though players can change their appearance through the right-click "Change" option, providing that they have met the completion count required for them:
