The Mimic is an item that may be obtained when attempting to open an elite or master reward casket. In order to be eligible to obtain it, players must first speak to the strange casket upstairs in Watson's house in Hosidius to enable the chance of a reward casket turning into the Mimic. An elite reward casket has a 1/35 chance of being a mimic, while master reward caskets have a 1/15 chance.[1] When obtained, a message in the chatbox will state The chest turned out to be the Mimic!.

Once a player obtains the Mimic, they can return to the strange casket to challenge The Mimic. When the player defeats the Mimic, they must leave in order to open the mimic chest and receive their reward. If a player attempts to open the mimic chest while in the Mimic's fight area, the chatbox will state "It'd be bad taste to try opening that in here."

Players can only have one Mimic at a time. If a player tries to open another elite or master reward casket with a Mimic in the player's inventory, the chatbox will warn the player "You already have a Mimic, and cannot be given another one. Do you wish to open the casket anyway?" [2]

The Mimic cannot be deposited into a bank. If players try to bank it, the chatbox will state "A magical force prevents you from banking this item!"
