The Guard was an unused variant of the Varrock Guards who used a crossbow. Presumably, he would have been located on Varrock's western wall or one of the guard towers, but was ultimately not added for unknown reasons.

Although several players claimed to remember him being on top of the wall facing Varrock west bank, there is no reference to him on any Fansite forums or bestiary during this time. The Falador Guard and Aitan, released in 2006, were considered at the time to be the first free-to-play monsters to use Ranged.

Regardless, the guard was removed from the game files with the rework of Varrock in 2007. As a result, he has never been present in Old School RuneScape.
