Overview

Main article: Pay-to-play Fishing training

Fishing is unlocked for free while completing the tutorial. Training will be similar to typical methods. In order to fight the Tempoross, it must first be unlocked by spending 10 Sage's Renown.

Skill synergies

• Cooking can be unlocked for 10 Sage's Renown to cook any caught fish.
• If training at Tempoross, it may be worth it to unlock Construction and Cooking. If catching fish barehanded, Strength should also be unlocked. Chef's Catch, Greedy Gatherer, and The Alchemist all work during the Tempoross fight. Double fishing spots stack with Greedy Gatherer.
• Barbarian fishing may be a good way to train multiple skills at once if Strength and Agility is also unlocked.
• Fishing and Hunter can be trained at the same time while drift net fishing.
• If Firemaking is unlocked and trained to level 30, the Sea Slug quest may be completed for 35,875 Fishing experience (with a 5x multiplier) - enough to skip from level 1 to level 39.
