The Hunting knife is obtained as a reward from the 2016 Halloween event, as well as subsequent Halloween events. Running while having the knife equipped uses a different animation.

Despite being a knife, its combat styles are the same as those of a warhammer. It offers very large attack penalties and is nearly useless as an actual weapon. As such it is allowed during "fun weapon" fights in legacy duels within the Emir's Arena.

When wielded, a "Slash" option will appear on other players. Picking this option will cause the player to hit the other player. Similarly to the rubber chicken, the hit is just an animation and no damage is dealt, nor does it count as entering combat. You also have a chance to miss with the knife and have it drop to the floor, and the message You drop your hunting knife on the floor! will appear in the chatbox.

If destroyed, a replacement can be obtained from Diango in Draynor Village or from the toy box of a costume room, as part of the 2016: Masked killer set. Ultimate Ironmen will be unable to retrieve individual pieces until the full set is stored.

Trivia

• The animation for slashing another player is identical to the one used when cutting jungle plants with a machete.
• The examine text is a reference to the theme song of Mr Stabby, a short flash animation series created by Jonti Picking.
• The equip option will be disabled around Pride event each June with "You can't equip this item at this time." message appearing if it's tried to be equipped.
