The Exam Centre is a location in Misthalin (found south-east of Varrock, directly south of the Digsite) that is central to several quests. Its access is limited to members only.
Players can identify a liquid, collected from the barrel in the Digsite by giving it to Terry Balando here. The identified liquid - Nitroglycerin - is commonly used with Dharok the Wretched's equipment in the Pest Control minigame.
The Exam Centre also contains a potter's wheel.
Getting there
The quickest ways of reaching the Exam Centre are:
- Using the Senntisten Teleport spell (requiring 60 Magic and the Ancient Magicks spellbook active) or its tablet. This brings players just west of the Exam Centre.
- Using a digsite teleport scroll or the digsite pendant's "Digsite" option and running south.
- Using the Gnome glider transportation system and selecting the destination "Lemanto Andra", then running south.
Quests
The Dig Site quest may be started by talking to any of the examiners here. Searching through the bookshelves will allow the player to find the beaten book, which is the starting point of the Elemental Workshop II quest, provided the player has completed the Elemental Workshop I Quest.
It is also visited during The Golem quest to get Varmen's notes. They are found in the south-eastern bookshelf.
Treasure Trails
Clapping in the Exam Centre is part of various Treasure Trails.
In addition, there is a locked chest under one of the red dragons' heads on the wall, which plays a part in Treasure Trails, namely for the medium cryptic clue, "The dead, red dragon watches over this chest. He must really dig the view." The player must kill a barbarian in Barbarian Village or Barbarian Outpost in order to receive the key.
An examiner will give the player a puzzle box with the right clue in their inventory.
