Glory

The Glory interface viewed from the colosseum scoreboard.

Glory is an intangible reward obtained from the Fortis Colosseum. Players must complete Children of the Sun to gain access to the Colosseum and increase their Glory.

Every time the player completes a wave, they will earn Glory, in which the amount gained is dependent on the player's performance - damage taken, time spent, errors made, and types of handicaps selected. A player's Glory does not accumulate like a currency, only their personal best matters. The player will retain Glory even if they die during a subsequent wave, but not if they teleport out.

The more Glory you have, the more permanent unlocks you have throughout all of Varlamore, where citizens may reward you based on how much has been earned. It is possible to achieve the title of Grand Champion without full completion of the Colosseum.

NB! Be aware that the glory system is not cumulative. Instead it works on personal best system. For example: to unlock bank chest inside the Colosseum, you have to earn 2000 points as your personal best of the whole run, not gather and spend the points like in a shop.

Earning Glory

The amount of glory a player earns in the Colosseum is based on four contributing factors: Completion Bonus, No Damage Bonus, Modifier Points, and Time Bonus.

Earning Glory
Wave Completion Bonus[a 1] No Damage Bonus[a 2] Modifier Points[a 3]
1 100 100 200
2 200 200 450
3 300 300 700
4 400 400 950
5 500 500 1,150
6 600 600 1,350
7 700 700 1,600
8 800 800 1,800
9 900 900 2,000
10 1,000 1,000 2,200
11 1,100 1,100 2,400
12 1,200 1,200 2,600
Total: 7,800 7,800 17,400
  1. ^ The completion bonus is always given.
  2. ^ Only awarded when the Player takes no damage from NPC's or the environment (not including self-inflicted damage such as divine potions).
  3. ^ The maximum possible points based on highest value invocations. This calculation is based on taking 200-point invocations (Doom, Frailty, Myopia, Relentless, Totemic) on waves 1, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Solar Flare (250 points) on waves 2, 3, 4, and Red Flag (250 points) on wave 7.
Time Bonus
Wave Starting Points Points lost per tick (0.6s)[b 1]
1 500 1
2 1,000 2
3 1,500 3
4 2,000 4
5 2,500 5
6 3,000 6
7 3,500 7
8 4,000 8
9 4,500 9
10 5,000 10
11 5,500 11
12 6,000 12
  1. ^ For example, if Wave 1 takes 30 seconds (50 ticks) the Player will receive a Time Bonus of 450 points. Note that it is impossible to receive an odd-numbered time bonus, and these will be rounded down to the next even number.

The theoretical maximum Glory would be 72,000 if all waves were completed on the first tick. Taking the fastest possible wave completions into account, the likely limit is somewhere between 60,000 - 65,000.

Glory Expert

Gloria is an expert on matters of Glory. She resides in the atrium of the Fortis Colosseum, wandering near the colosseum scoreboard, which she personally updates. She provides information on how Glory works, the rewards for increased Glory, and she can check the player's current rank (which is also visible on the scoreboard).
