Hair is a 100% drop from the level 22 yaks outside the village of Neitiznot. Players can use it on a spinning wheel to make rope using the Crafting skill. Making a rope requires level 30 Crafting and grants 25 Crafting experience.

The players who paid Vanligga Gastfrihet's taxes during The Fremennik Isles can buy them from her shop (located north of the longhall in Jatizso) for a price of 2 to 5 coins each. She is very close to a bank, so purchasing hair from her is a faster method than killing yaks for up to 50 pieces (her maximum stock). For more than 50 pieces, hopping worlds is faster than waiting for her shop to restock.
