Game Jam II was a Game Jam that took place during the week of 31 October 2022.[1]

Most of the projects were listed in the November 2022 Gielinor Gazette.

Projects

New Hairstyles

Mod Halo, Mod Jerv, Mod Elena, Mod Bruno, Mod Moogle, Mod Skylark, Mod Shroom, Mod West, and Mod Hend worked on new hairstyles[2], along with a rework to the current hairstyle selection interface.[3] Access to the 16 new hairstyles would be locked behind a short quest involving the player helping a hairdresser find the perfect place to set up a boutique in Varrock.[4] Completion of the quest would also give players access to the FashionScape Accessory Shop, which would sell cosmetic items. These cosmetic items would likely be developed as part of future item-design contests.

OSRS Randomiser

Mod Nin worked on a randomiser gamemode that would "see the whole game turned on its head". Every week, players would spawn in Lumbridge, and would have to check off tasks on a randomised bingo card, while having to deal with completely random game elements — including enemy spawns (eg. the goblins in Lumbridge are all replaced with dagannoths), item drops (eg. chopping trees now gives burnt sharks), and experience drops (eg. attacking now grants Smithing experience).

Agility Improvements

Mod Arcane, Mod Dylan, and Mod Goblin worked on a rework to the Agility skill, which would buff the rate at which run energy is restored and would change the rate at which it drains (depending heavier on weight). A comparison between the current energy drain rate and the proposed rework's drain rate can be seen below:

  • 1 Agility
    • 1kg - 150% buff
    • 64kg - 17% nerf
  • 20 Agility
    • 64kg - 0.8% buff
    • This is the 'breakpoint' at which the proposed system is always better than what's currently in-game.
  • 50 Agility
    • 1kg - 191% buff
    • 64kg - 26% buff
  • 99 Agility
    • 1kg - 153% buff
    • 64kg - 48% buff

Other features of the rework would include a new low-level Agility course in Lumbridge, resting spots similar to the resting feature in RuneScape, and slow-roasted meats that restores run energy.

OSRS Tower Defence

Mod Arcane, Mod Husky, and Mod Mack worked on a tower defence minigame that would be based off of skills and the combat system, and would "synergize with these existing mechanics and your character’s progression."

Custom Outfit Loadouts

Mod Squid worked on an interface that would allow players to save equipment presets and fetch them from anywhere in their house. The Stylist's Mirror, which would be built in the bedroom of a player-owned house, would allow players to access all the equipable items they own in all storage locations (the bank, inventory, and items in a costume room), and could equip them as long as they have a servant to fetch them the items.

Wilderness Expansion Revisited

Mod Soffan expanded on the Wilderness Expansion seen in the April 2022 Game Jam to include the rest of the Wilderness.[5] The rework would feature multiple new areas, new bosses (including a world boss), and new items.

Blood Torva Armour

Mod Soffan modeled a Torva armour ornament kit that would give the armour the same colour scheme as the Sanguine scythe of vitur.[6]

Community Event Support

Mod Light and Mod Dylan worked on ways to recognise and promote positive behaviour among players. Potential ideas included the Party Popper, a special Jagex Moderator item similar to the rotten potato but with the ability to give a player an "event organiser" tag for 24 hours, a repurposed version of the Varrock Herald that would include notable community initiatives, and the ability to create automatic broadcasts for events similar to RuneScape.

Port Management

Mod West worked on the Fremennik Port Manager, an extension to the Managing Miscellania activity.[7] Through a continuation of the Miscellania quest series, players would be able to establish and manage a port in Etceteria, including sending out expeditions to areas around the Fremennik Province, sending shipments to nearby towns, and discovering new islands. Resources from Managing Miscellania would be usable in the minigame.

Rewards would include resource rewards, untradeable cosmetics, and access to new monsters and training methods via new islands.

Holiday Island

Mod Tide worked on Holiday Island, an island that would only be accessible during Holiday events, and after the completion of the current event. The island would be themed after whichever event is currently active. Holiday Island would feature thematic monsters and skilling methods, which earn the player Holiday Points. Holiday Points would be used to buy cosmetic rewards.

Achievement Diaries Interface Rework

Mod Kirby worked on a revamped version of the Achievement Diary interface to make it similar to current interfaces.[8][a]
