A Celastrus tree is a high-level tree that can be grown with the Farming skill. Players with at least level 85 Farming may plant a celastrus sapling in the high-tier area of the Farming Guild. The nearby farmer can be paid 8 potato cacti to protect a planted celastrus tree from becoming diseased.

Celastrus trees are grown by first planting a celastrus seed in a filled plant pot, which will turn into a celastrus sapling after being watered and allowed to grow. The celastrus sapling is then planted in the celastrus patch, in the advanced tier of the Farming Guild, using a spade.

Once fully grown, checking the health of the tree yields 14,130 Farming experience and can then be chopped with an axe to produce a minimum of three celastrus bark for 23.5 Farming experience per bark. The yield of celastrus bark can be improved by composting the patch before it is fully grown, having Magic secateurs equipped or in your inventory, having a higher Farming level, and having an Attas seed planted. Once all of the bark has been harvested the tree will remain depleted until removed. The fully harvested tree must be cut down and then cleared using a spade.

Due to the high cost of celastrus seeds, it is recommended to pay the farmer for protection and maximise the yield of celastrus bark by using ultracompost and Magic secateurs. An amulet of nature may also be bound to the patch to be notified of disease.

Growing a celastrus tree, harvesting the celastrus bark, and using a knife to create a Battlestaff is required for a Kourend & Kebos Elite Diary task.
