The suntrap in Sophanem is used to boil away salt water, leaving behind the salt. It is the centre of focus for the many mirrors found nearby, allowing the sunlight to quickly evaporate any water poured into the suntrap. During the Icthlarin's Little Helper quest, the player must use a bucket of saltwater on the suntrap, in order to acquire a pile of salt, which the Embalmer requests from the player.
