The workbench is used during and after the quests Elemental Workshop and Elemental Workshop II. They are used to smith elemental shields during and after the first quest and elemental helmets, mind shields, mind helmets and crane claws during and after the second quest.

In order to use one of these, the player must have either a slashed or battered book, elemental or mind bars, and a hammer. Other bars cannot be smithed on a workbench.
