Yewnock the Engineer is the son of Oaknock the Engineer, the legendary gnome builder. Like his father, Yewnock built a machine that would dispel illusions, as seen in a cutscene during The Path of Glouphrie where he exposes Bolrie's advisor as Glouphrie the Untrusted.

His workshop and machine are located in the Gnome Village Dungeon, where the player uses it to expose King Bolren's pet as an evil creature.

He is known for developing gnome gliders, which were based on the toys his father used to make.[1] Nothing else is known about him or his sibling(s), but given the lifespan of gnomes and the fact that the test pilots of his first prototypes are still alive, it is possible that Yewnock still lives.

Trivia

  • Yewnock the Engineer's examine text is a reference to the British animated children's TV series Bob the Builder, with Bob's catchphrase being "Can he fix it? Yes he can!"

Oaknock's son, Yewknock, ended up creating this method of transport with inspiration from his father's models. Captain Daerkin and Captain Ninto were said to be test pilots of the initial prototypes, though enquiries have proved them to be reticent to give much information."
