The monkey skull is an item found in the Temple of Marimbo Dungeon beneath Ape Atoll, in the west room packed with monkey zombies. There is a bamboo door separating said room from the rest of the dungeon; the door can be opened upon completion of the hard Western Provinces Diary.
It is used to make an ancient gorilla greegree, which allows the player to transform into an ancient monkey.
