Nova is first seen outside the Tower of Ascension during The Heart of Darkness. The player asks her along with other nearby recruits, Sergius, Felius, and Caritta to gain insight into how the Emissaries operate.

The player sees her again inside the Ruins of Tapoyauik along with the other three recruits seen earlier, all initiated as Twilight Emissaries. However, they all meet whilst encountering the Frost Nagua.
