The Tower of Ascension is a part of the Twilight Temple within Varlamore. It is used to run trials for new recruits to test if they are worthy to join the Twilight Emissaries.

During The Heart of Darkness, the player and Prince Itzla Arkan ascend the Tower to face several trials run by Forebearer Janus. The upper floors of the tower are no longer accessible after the quest is complete.

After completion of The Heart of Darkness, the ground floor of the tower contains a lift platform that grants access to the bottom floor of the Ruins of Tapoyauik, close to Amoxliatl's lair.

A chest on the ground floor can be searched to find Emissary robes both during and after the quest.
