Cabin Boy Herbert is Veos' assistant. He replaces Veos during and after the events of A Kingdom Divided, allowing the same travelling options between Port Sarim, Port Piscarilius, and Land's End.

After a mysterious earthquake shakes Great Kourend, Veos disappears and Herbert takes over. The player first meets him when the escaped former councillor Sophia Hughes attempts to flee from Great Kourend to the main continent, where Herbert warns the player and Commander Fullore of Hughes' intention of boarding the ship to escape.
