Dragonstone bolts (e) are runite bolts tipped with enchanted dragonstone. Dragonstone bolts can be enchanted through the spell Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Dragonstone) by a player with level 68 Magic. The spell enchants 10 dragonstone bolts at a time. They require 61 Ranged to wield. Dragonstone bolts (e) can be purchased from Justine located at the Last Man Standing Minigame in Ferox Enclave 20 for 3 points.

Special effect

Dragonstone bolts (e) have a 6% chance of triggering the Dragon's breath effect upon a successful hit. This inflicts a dragonfire hit against the target, causing extra damage (visible ranged level * 20%). Slightly extra damage is done if under the effect of the Zaryte crossbow (visible ranged level * 22%). If the player boosts to achieve a Ranged level of 112, the extra damage is 22.

If the target is immune to dragonfire, the special effect will not activate. This also applies to players using Protect from Magic, which likewise fully blocks the dragonstone bolts from activating.

Dragonstone bolts (e) are notable because of their effectiveness in PVP, with a chance of hitting extremely hard against opponents without antifire protection, as well as having a high ranged strength bonus. A player with 99 Ranged and using the appropriate boosts (namely Rigour, the Elite Void Knight equipment set effect, and a Ranging potion) can achieve a max hit of 70 with the special in PvP scenarios.

If the player has completed the Hard Kandarin Diary, there is a 10% increase of the likelihood that the special effect of an enchanted bolt will occur, resulting in a 6.6% chance instead. This effect is always active regardless if the headgear is equipped. As the dragon's breath effect only has a chance of triggering after passing a successful Ranged accuracy roll, players can expect a lower rate of activation overall.

This effect can only activate on a successful hit.
