The fermenting vat is examinable scenery containing ingredients that ferment together to make cider. The process and steps for brewing are detailed on its own page.

The five variations of cider fermenting vats corresponds to a specific step in the brewing process:

  1. Prior to adding ale yeast, the vat contains four buckets of apple mush.
  2. After ale yeast is added, the contents of the vat will begin to ferment.
  3. Though still in the fermentation process, part way through process the contents advance a stage and are partially fermented.
  4. Upon completion the contents turn into either normal cider, mature cider, or bad ale. The chance it becomes mature is 5%. The stuff cannot be added.

Turning the nearby valve drains the vat's contents into the nearby empty barrel so that the barrel of cider or barrel of mature cider can be drained or emptied into beer glasses or calquat kegs, producing a total of 8 pints.
