A fly fishing rod can be used to fish trout, salmon (both with feathers), and rainbow fish (with stripy feathers). They can be bought from various fishing shops. Fly fishing rods are used at fishing spots with the lure option. Popular fishing spots include the Barbarian Village, the Grand Tree and Shilo Village. Fly fishing rods use feathers as bait. Feathers are dropped frequently from chickens or purchased from fishing shops.
Fly fishing is also frequently used to train Fishing because of the fast experience. The ratio of catching trout and salmon is about 55.5% trout and 44.5% salmon. This results in an average of 58.9 experience per feather used. However, Barbarian fishing provides faster fishing experience.
The equipable version of the fly fishing rod, the pearl fly fishing rod, can be bought with molch pearls from Alry the Angler.
A fly fishing rod also spawns on the Isle of Souls on the South-East region.
