Rock samples were items originally obtained during The Dig Site. Players were required to find three rock samples and give them to the Students, who in return would provide the correct answers to the Digsite exam.

• The first sample could be obtained by pickpocketing Digsite workmen
• The second sample could be found while panning
• The third sample could be found searching some bushes

In August 2006, the quest was reworked. The three rock samples were replaced by the Animal skull, Special cup, and Teddy, which are all obtained in the same way and serve the same purpose.
