The sandwich lady is a random event. She appears anywhere to offer players a selection from her tray of food. Players have to be sure to take the one she offers.
^If you pass the 1/7 roll to be offered a baguette, there is a 1/64 chance for it to be stale, resulting in an effective rate of 1/448.

The sandwich lady, including her appearance and temperament, was based on a lady who used to sell sandwiches at Jagex's office, suddenly interrupting work to sell sandwiches.[1]
Before the September 2014 random events update, if players chose the wrong pastry, the Sandwich lady would hit them with a baguette and teleport them to a random area.
Over the years, there have been occasional reports of the sandwich lady offering seven baguettes in her tray, but no other refreshments. This has been confirmed to be a bug, seemingly caused by the underlying menu failing to set up correctly.[2][3]

The sandwich lady now has a 1/64 chance of giving a stale baguette in place of a baguette when offered.
